Nightly Recap: June 10th

It is now the second week of the season and it started off with a bang! As always there are two games scheduled for the evening, here’s what happend last night.

Game 1

Rob’s Mob vs J.T. All Stars

This was a close game from start to finish, both teams came into this game undefeated with two wins a piece. J.T. All Stars got a great effort from J Dub, he led his team in scoring with 25 points. He appeared to be the only consistent offensive threat as his teammates struggled from the field, but they did a great job on the defensive end. Rob’s Mob was just too much to handle as they got a balanced attack from their team as Rick Shields and DeMarr Johnson led the way in the scoring department. Rick finished with 21 points and DeMarr finished with 20, the story here was Rick. Time and time again, he stopped the bleeding for his team whenever J.T. All Stars were in the midst of a run. Rob’s Mob won 80-76, they are now 3-0.

Podium Game: Rick Shields

Game 2

Shooting Hoops vs Rampage

This game was full of offensive fireworks, unfortunately most of the fireworks were from one team. Shooting Hoops definitely believed in “Space & Pace” as they often pushed the pace while maintaining great spacing. Most of that having to do with their Point Guard Ray aka Rondo(17 points), he did a great job distributing the ball to his teammates. Anton started the game slow, but Rondo kept feeding him until the shots started to fall. Anton finished with 28 points, most of them off of great finds by Rondo. Shooting Hoops had a size advantage on the glass and that definitely played a huge factor in their ability to push the tempo. Rampage had trouble scoring the basketball in half court situations, the exception being Corey Allmond who finished with 31 points. Corey got hot from beyond the arch in a stretch that allowed Rampage to put a dent into their deficit before Shooting Hoops responded with a run of their own.

Podium Game: Ray & Anton
