P.I.T.S League

Nightly Recap: June 12th

Game 1

Hot Spaucho vs Shooting Hoops

This game featured  a matchup of very good lead guards, Roach for Hot Spaucho and Ray for Shooting Hoops. It’s early in the season, but it’s no secret that both of their team’s success often corrolates with their individual impact on the game. Each team had a bevy of shooters, but for some reason the same shots that the crowd was accustomed to see going in weren’t falling last night. This made for an extremely hard fought game, both teams like to play defense and get out and run. Defense was there last night, the offense was definitely a struggle for both teams. Hot Spaucho had just enough balanced scoring to go with Roach’s 17 points to get them the victory. Shooting Hoops just couldn’t get anything consistent going on the offensive end, as the game went on Ray(21 points) changed gears from distributor to scoring by being more assertive. That helped Shooting Hoops get back into the game, they cut the deficit to single digits but were unable to take the lead. Hot Spaucho beat Shooting Hoops 67-56.

Podium Game: Roach

Game 2

Made Men vs J.T. All Stars

This game started off as a rout, as Made Men got out to a huge lead! The score was 21-6 at one pont, credit must be given to J.T. All Stars as they never panicked. Eventually J.T. All Stars began to get stops and slow the game down, it all started on the defensive end. With each passing quarter, they cut into the deficit and at one point had it down to just three! Made Men was able to hang on in part to a very deep bench and veteran leadership by Juice, he led by example and routinely made the right plays down the stretch. Juice did a great job getting his teammates involved all game, specifically their big guy in Germ. Both Juice and Germ finished with 11 points to lead an extremely balanced Made Men attack. J Dub started slow as did J.T. All Stars as a whole, but he really got it going in the second half to finish with 30 points. I’m sure that J.T. All Stars would like to have a couple of their late offensive possessions back, specifically one where they were down by three and took a very ill-advised three point attempt, it lead to a quick outlet pass and easy layup for Made Men. Made Men won 63-56.

Podium Game: Juice & Germ
