Week 14 Redskins Recap

Kansas City 45

Washington 10

The Kansas City Chiefs demolished the Washington Redskins in front of a sparse crowd.

Stat of the Day: The Kansas City Chiefs scored on their first five possessions.

Player of the Game: N/A

TURNING POINT: Derrick Johnson intercepts RG3 on the second possession of the game, resulting in a touchdown and giving the Chiefs a ten-point lead.

I’ve substituted the customary “Good” section because of how poor yesterday’s game was and added “a worse and worst section.” Also if it wasn’t apparent every unit on the team was given an “F.”

The Bad:

The third down offense- the Washington Redskins converted just 3 of 15 third downs.

RG3- Griffin III threw a silly interception in the first quarter and completed less than 50% of his passes (12/26) for 164 yards.

Coaching- the Redskins didn’t looked prepared to play. According to Redskins reporter Grant Paulsen, head coach Mike Shanahan said he apologized to his players after the game for not getting the team ready to play.

Run defense- Jamaal Charles averaged 7.9 yards a carry and finished with 151 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Special teams- The Redskins surrendered 300 yards in the return game and allowed the Chiefs to score on a punt return and kick return.

Who’s next: The Redskins (3-10) travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons (3-10) on Sunday.
