Hayfield High School is located in Alexandria, Va. The Hawks have one heck of a playmaker in their secondary, Junior Defensive Back Kobe Marfo(Class of 2015). The six foot corner has a nose for the football, wherever the ball is on the field it’s a safe bet that he’s in the neighborhood. Unlike most corners these days, Marfo doesn’t have an issue with contact. He routinely steps up in the run game to make stops, if and when his man catches the ball, there is a price to pay. Stating Marfo’s physicality isn’t to say he has a lack of coverage skills, he does quite well which is evident by the number of deflections and pass break ups he accumulated this year. While size and speed play a huge factor in a player’s worth, the penchant for making plays is priceless. Marfo is a physical corner with a nose for the ball and the ability to deliver the “big” hit. Here’s his stats from this season: 80 Tackles, 68 solo, 3 Interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 20 deflections. Can’t wait to see what he does in his Senior Campaign!
