The Washington Redskins will interview former San Francisco 49er defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio as early as Saturday according to reports.
It looked as if Washington would hire former Chargers linebacker coach Joe Barry as the new defensive coordinator on Thursday but things changed after Fangio became available once Jim Tomsula was promoted to head coach in San Fran.
Fangio has a connection with new Washington general manager Scot McCloughan, the two worked together in San Fran when McCloughan was the general manager.
Fangio would be an immediate improvement over Jim Haslett, he had the 49ers ranked in the top five in yards allowed in each of his seasons as defensive coordinator.
Fangio would more than likely run a 3-4 scheme, his scheme of choice in San Fran.
