The Philadelphia 76ers love to stack assets, they did just that today in a trade with the Denver Nuggets. Philly picked up a first round pick for the often injured big man from Denver. The Nuggets completed a trade with the 76ers today per multiple reports.
In the trade, the Sixers picked up a 2015 first round pick from the Thunder that Denver got in the Mozgov trade. The pick is top 18 protected, if it’s retained by OKC this season, than it becomes lottery protected next season for the Sixers. More importantly for Denver, they receive a huge trade exception in the deal, to the tune of $11.2 million.
This was the second trade of the day for the Nuggets as they traded Arron Afflalo to Portland in a five player deal. It’ll be interesting to see if the 76ers will be involved in more transactions before the deadline, the deadline is 3 pm Eastern.
