Point guards popular at the deadline

While the NBA is still on it’s eight day break, courtesy of the All-Star game, today is a big day. In just seven hours, time runs out on teams that wish to make any more trades this season. Yes, it’s officially the NBA Trade Deadline. While little has happened as of yet, there is tons of speculation and rumors floating around the league. It’s our duty to keep you informed of those rumors, should they come into fruition.

The biggest may be what’s going on or could go on in Phoenix. It was all smiles just a few weeks ago, the Suns have recently found out that point guard Goran Dragic isn’t open to an extension. Dragic may not be the only one on the table, Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green are also names that are rumored to be available to move. Dragic had this to say recently on his role in Phoenix: “To be a point guard, to run the team and have the ball in my hands and try to make plays for others. That’s who I am. … Standing in the corner, it’s not my game.”

Dragic isn’t the only point guard that feels crowded, Oklahoma City’s Reggie Jackson is looking for greener pastures as well. It’s not surprising in the least bit as Jackson’s minutes have gone down ever since the Thunder acquired Dion Waiters.

The Portland Trail Blazers are said to be shopping at the moment, they’re looking into possibly adding Aaron Afflalo to bolster the depth of their wings.

Ty Lawson is fresh off signing a contract extension, but he’s not considered ‘off limits’ to other teams. For the right deal, he could be moved.

The Miami Heat could be players leading up to the deadline, they have deemed just three players untouchable on their roster. The rest, are open to discussions it seems.

LeBron James came home, Derrick Rose never left. Is it time for Kevin Garnett to return to the Wolves?
