Impact Players from Week 2 action

Out of the 16 teams that lost in Week 1 action, seven of those teams took a turn in the right direction in Week 2. For some teams it’s  back to the drawing boards, there are still nine teams looking for their first win. Two players had outstanding performances this week, both of which played a big role in getting their teams a win.

AFC

Racking up 252 yards in the first half alone, Ben Roethlisberger gained more yards than half of the league’s starting quarterbacks for the entire game. Big Ben was well protected against the San Francisco defense, his O-line didn’t allow any hits on their signal caller. He completed 21 of his 27 passes for 369 yards and three touchdowns, giving him the week’s best rating at 155.8.

If you had this guy on your fantasy team chances are you had pretty good week. So did his offensive coordinator, in the first half the Steelers went up 29-3 on the 49ers. The Steelers were not afraid to take chances either, going for two points after the first three scoring drives.

If Ben keeps this play up the Steelers could ready to assert their claim to the AFC North title. But let’s take it one game at a time and the next opponent for the men of Steel are the Rams, who took a tough loss yesterday.

NFC

Larry Fitzgerald put on a clinic against the Bear’s defense at Soldier Field on Sunday. Out of his eight total receptions three of those were for touchdowns, during the incredible game he racked up 112 receiving yards.

Fitzgerald had his best scoring game reeling in three TD catches since the 2009 NFC Conference Championship Game, he has already surpassed last year’s touchdown mark. He is proving that he still has gas in the tank after turning 32 last month.

Let’s see if the Carson to Larry connection can carry out the same execution as they did in Week 2, against the 49ers in Week 3. Compared to the Bears who only gives up 189 yards per game, the 49ers’ defense gives up 273 yards per game, this will be a good week to put Larry in the fantasy lineup.
