The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to FedEx Field to take on the Washington Redskins in a matchup of two teams looking for their third win of the season. Tampa Bay enters the contest with a record of 2-3 (3rd place NFC South) while Washington has a 2-4 (last place in NFC East).
Three Keys to Victory
1. Which quarterback can make the fewest mistakes? Rookie Jameis Winston enters the game throwing for 1,174 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. Cousins enters the game with 1,420 yards, six touchdowns and eight interceptions. This game may come down to which struggling quarterback makes the fewest mistakes and protects the football.
2. Will either team be able to establish a run game? Both defenses give up their fate share of yards on the ground. Tampa Bay rushes for 122.4 YPG while surrendering 120.4 YPG. Washington isn’t as successful on the ground, rushing for 107.2 YPG and gives up 118.2 YPG. Is this the game Doug Martin has a great day? Can Alfred Morris and Matt Jones rush for enough to keep the defense honest?
3. Can either team get pressure on the quarterbacks? Neither team does a good job of pressuring and being the quarterback down. The Bucs have 11 sacks in their first five games while the Redskins have just seven sacks in their first six games.
The two teams are both looking up in the standings and both are struggling. The Buccaneers are going through rookie quarterback struggles while the Redskins are in quarterback turmoil. Something will have to give and this game has the potential to be a shootout or an uneventful, low-scoring game.
