Issac’s late free throws clutch in close win over the DMV All Stars

Team Hylin came away from this competitive contest with a Win as they outlasted the DMV Allstars in this P.I.T.S League showdown. The 1st quarter began with both teams trading back to back baskets. Both teams came out of the gate with great energy to begin this pivota playoff matchup. Aquille Carr of the DMV Allstars gave his team a one point lead with a pretty off the glass floater that gave the DMV All Stars the lead by a score of 8-7. As both team’s continue to make big plays Team Hylin’s Damonte hit a tough mid range jump shot that tied the game at 10-10. The highlight of the game occurred in this quarter as Aquille Carr drove down the middle of the land and put a Team Hylin’s defender in a blender with a crazy layup to end the 1st quarter with a 18-16 lead.

The second quarter began with another layup by Aquille Carr that pushed his team’s lead to 22-16. Both teams begin to exchange baskets until the DMV Allstars go on a 5-0 run as Austin of the Dmv Allstars found his guard Kory for a sweet AND-1 in transition that helped push their lead 33-27. During this quarter both team’s showed some grit as they put on a show that exemplified the definition of team basketball. As the halftime buzzer sounded the DMV Allstars were ahead of Team Hylin by a score of 33-29. The Dmv Allstars led at the half but in order to win a game you must stay consistent from beginning to the end so it was safe to say that this game was far from over.


Team Hylin came out of halftime firing from all cylinders as Isaac began hitting shots from all over the court. After hitting two straight three pointers Isaac hit another three point shot that cut his team’s deficit to 46-44 with a few minutes left in the third quarter. His third three of the half lead his team to an 8-0 run which gave them the lead by a score of 47-46. As stated earlier this game was a back and forth battle between two great teams as they went into the fourth quarter tied at 49-49.

The DMV Allstars was the first team to put points on the board in the fourth but Team Hylin persevered as OLU showed off his postgame on back to back buckets . After Auille Carr found Kory for a tough backdoor layup to tie the game at 58-58 Isaac of Team Hylin showed his clutch gene as he took the game over by hitting four straight free throws. The DMV Allstars would not score again as Team Hylin came away from this hard fought game with a win by the score of 64-60. If you are a fan of basketball this game was one for the ages.
