Washington Valor have won two consecutive games after beating the Philadelphia Soul 53 – 46.
The Valor would lead the entire game until a late touchdown by the Soul gave the visitors a late lead with 36 seconds left. However the home team would regain the lead with a 46-yard touchdown reception by Josh Reese with 6 seconds left to secure the win.
Epps continues breakout rookie season. Epps who entered the game leading the league in yards per reception (18.9) and receiving touchdowns (5), recorded team highs of nine receptions and 113 receiving yards in the win vs the Soul. He was able to repeatedly get open, beating his man and was a safety blanket all night for quarterback Arvell Nelson. Epps has already won Offensive Player of the Week twice already. If he maintains his current pace, he could finish the season in second place for most yards per reception in league history.
Arvell Nelson could be an MVP Candidate. Nelson had his second game this season with at least 300 plus passing yards and five plus passing touchdowns. At the moment, he leads the league in passing yards and is second in Passer Rating. If that wasn’t enough, Nelson also leads the league in rushing yards and touchdowns. Against the Soul, he ran for a pair of touchdowns in the first half, giving him three consecutive games with multiple rushing touchdowns. That is now six consecutive games with three plus passing touchdowns and two plus rushing touchdowns since joining the Valor half way through last season.
