Keep an eye on:
Defense: has left a lot to be desired for most of the season. Good news is, so has the Cavaliers. Both teams are among the worst in the league in defensive rating with Washington having a rating of 112.5, which ranks 27th in the NBA and the Cavs bringing in a 110.4 rating, putting them at 23rd in the league currently. To make matters worst, Washington and Cleveland are also among the leagues worst rebounding the ball. Washington ranks dead last averaging 43.3 rebounds per game and Cleveland comes in averaging 46 rebounds, good enough to be ranked 24th in the NBA. The team who elevates their game on the defensive end and on the boards will more than likely walk off the court victorious.
Cavs Front Court: of Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson has quietly been very productive this season. Love is having an outstanding season, averaging 18.9 points, 14.4 rebounds (2nd in the NBA) and a team leading 4.1 assist on 49 percent shooting from the field, 39 percent shooting from 3-point range and 87 percent from the line. Yes, all star caliber season. Thompson is posting a double-double of his own with 16.9 points a game and 11.6 rebounds per game (4.6 ORB) on 53 percent shooting from the field. In comparison, not ONE Wizards player, let alone a front court player,is currently averaging a double-double. The Wizards have to keep these two off the boards as well as find and defend Kevin Love at all three levels or these two will dominate the game.
