Ben Simmons commits to LSU
Johnny strikes again. Not that Johnny, but Johnny Jones– the head coach of the LSU men’s basketball team.
Benjamin Simmons, a 2015 5-star forward, announced via Twitter this morning that he has committed to play for the LSU Tigers:
I would like to announce I have committed to Louisiana State University http://t.co/tIsx5qIdqr

The decision comes after Simmons and his Montverde Academy teammate, Jalyn Patterson (also an LSU commit), took a visit over the weekend. LSU’s assistant coach, David Patrick is Simmons’ godfather, and that may have played a significant role in his commitment.
The big picture impact is the recent flurry of top-flight talent commitments that Johnny Jones has secured for the program, which last saw one of its player go on to be a first round pick five years ago–Anthony Randolph.
