Jets land Maccagnan, Bowles in Same Day

The New York Jets have had an extremely busy day. After losing both their General manager and Head coach, Woody Johnson had some hiring to do. Huge decisions as the impending GM and head coach will be inheriting an outstanding defensive unit with some key players being very young. The GM will be in charge of improving the talent on the offensive side of the ball as well as providing depth throughout the roster. First, hires had to be made.

Screen Shot 2015-01-13 at 10.50.41 PMEarlier today, the Jets named Mike Maccagnan the new GM. Johnson made the decision after consulting his trusted advisors, Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf. Maccagan was formerly a member of the Houston Texans organization, an experienced personnel guy with an extensive scouting background. As a New Jersey native, the Jets are happy he’s come back home.

No more than 25 minutes ago, several NFL ‘Insiders’ reported that the Jets have named their new head coach. Former defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals has been given the job. Todd Bowles gives New York another phenomenal defensive mind.

As always Schefter, Anderson, and Rapoport were amongst the first to break and confirm the news this evening on Bowles.
