Maryland women’s basketball team remains undefeated as they handed down a severe lashing to the Loyola Greyhounds 97-47 on Tuesday night. The Lady Terps were led by Junior guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, who has recently been named Big Ten Player of the Week. Walker -Kimbrough led the way with 21 points. She’s currently averaging 18.5 points, five rebounds, and five assists and she is also closing in on her 1000th career point.
The Terps also had four players in double figures, which includes 15 points from senior Brene Moseley, 10 players scored at least one point Defensively, Maryland kept the Greyhounds from getting settled in any offense by adding full court and half court pressure throughout the first half. The Terps also outrebounded the Greyhounds which resulted in many points in transition.
Maryland ended the first half with a whopping lead of 50-24. The second half resembled that of the first. The Terps continued to push the ball and keep Loyola from making any big runs. Head coach Brenda Frese stated that her team “had a lot of fun” during the game. Prior to stepping on the court, Coach Frese made it clear that her focus with her team is to remain consistent throughout the game; therefore she stated she was impressed with the season low of turnovers and overall complete game her team played.
