Utah Jazz Season Preview

The Jazz could be the best defensive team in the NBA this season.

With the trade that sent George Hill to Utah, the Jazz are loaded with defenders at every position.  Hill brings exactly what Utah has been missing, solid point guard play. No he is not the best scoring point in the NBA, but he is one of the best at his position on the defensive end of the floor.

Rudy Gobert proved to the world last year that he is one of the best defensive players in the world. His long frame makes him nearly impossible to score on around the rim (unless your DeMar DeRozan or Damian Lillard. But that not the point). He is he anchor that will have to steer Utah’s defensive ship.

Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood will be a huge part of the offense for the Jazz. Hayward is an underrated scorer in the league and Hood is a sharp shooter from beyond the arc. Both will be relied on heavily for a scoring punch.

It gets better for Utah. Acquiring Joe Johnson and Boris Diaw was perfect for the Jazz. Diaw is a veteran leader that knows a thing or two about winning championships. Johnson is and has been nothing short or a scorer. He, alongside Hood and Hayward will be a potent three-headed scoring monster for Utah.

Size, speed, scoring, leadership, the Jazz have it all. Hayward will began the season recovering from injury. However with everyone healthy, except Utah to be one of the best teams in the entire NBA.

P.S. Utah is one of three or four teams that have the tools to actually beat the Warriors this year.
