Ravens host Washington in Preseason action as schedule is released

The Baltimore Ravens preseason schedule has been revealed as their schedule features home matchups against the Washington Redskins and Buffalo Bills. On the road, they’ll visit the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints. They’ll also be home for the third preseason game which is the eighth year in a row when starters traditionally see their most extensive action playing the entire first half before sitting out the last preseason game to get ready for the regular season.

Baltimore’s preseason schedule starts off at home with the standard matchup with the nearby Washington Redskins as the Ravens are 6-3 all-time against the Redskins in the preseason. their last matchup was Week 5 last season with the Redskins getting the win 16-10.

The Ravens get to host the third preseason game, which is the last real dress rehearsal for the regular season where the starters often play into the second half. The Ravens new defense will get a good test against Buffalo and former Ravens quarterback Tyrod Taylor before going into the regular season. The last time these two teams met was just last season in Week 1 with the Ravens getting the narrow victory 13-7.

Baltimore has played plenty of games in Miami in recent years including the playoffs, but this is the first time they’ll face the Dolphins in the preseason. Getting the Dolphins in the preseason is very interesting because the teams will see each other again in the regular season as the game will be in Baltimore that time around.

This will be the fourth year in a row the Ravens have faced the Saints during the preseason. The matchup with the Saints brings the Ravens back to the Superdome for the first time since they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLVII as only a handful of players remain from that championship team.
